1. Overview

You can request deletion of your Piazam account at any time. This page explains exactly what we remove, what we are required to keep, and the two ways to start the process. There is no charge to delete your account.

2. What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following are permanently removed:

  • Account and login credentials
  • Saved delivery addresses
  • Cart items
  • Wishlist
  • Spin-wheel rewards, credits, and prize history
  • Profile details (name, phone, preferences)
  • Active sessions on all your devices

3. What We Retain

Past orders are anonymized but retained for 6 years to comply with the Ghana Revenue Administration Act 2016 (Act 915), which requires merchants to keep financial records for that period.

For each retained order, we strip out identifying details (name, phone, house number, digital address) and keep only what we need for tax filings:

  • Order number, date, and status
  • Items purchased and totals (in GH₵)
  • Payment reference
  • Region and city only, no street-level address

Anonymized orders cannot be linked back to you.

4. Delete From the App

The fastest way to delete your account is from inside the app:

  1. Open Piazam and sign in.
  2. Go to Account, then Settings.
  3. Scroll to the Danger Zone at the bottom.
  4. Tap Delete My Account and type your email to confirm.

5. Delete By Email

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, send a deletion request from the email address linked to your account:

  • To: [email protected]
  • Subject: Account Deletion Request
  • Body: Your full name and the phone number on your account, so we can locate it.

Sending from your account email is how we verify the request. We will never ask for your password.

6. Timing

  • In-app: immediate. You will be signed out and your data is removed before the page reloads.
  • By email: processed within 7 business days. We confirm completion by replying to your email.
